Job Overview

Position: MICE and SIT Sales Lead

Location: London

Compensation: Up to £50,000

COREcruitment Ltd is collaborating with a prominent private travel organization that operates in over 36 locations globally, specializing in tours, corporate travel, and business solutions. They are expanding their London operations and are in search of a MICE and SIT Sales Lead.

The primary responsibility of this role is to enhance existing partnerships and pursue new opportunities to boost market presence in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and SIT (Special Interest Tours) sectors. You will oversee each inquiry and proposal to ensure they meet sales and client expectations. This includes ensuring timely delivery of all proposals by coordinating with internal teams. You will also participate in sales discussions, conduct site evaluations, and manage events. Initially, you will lead a team of three, with the potential for future expansion into a standalone division.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Effectively communicate and engage with all sales divisions, European branches, and suppliers.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Participate in promotional trips to connect with sales agents and showcase products and services, which may involve international travel.

Product Development:

  • Develop and maintain an online portal for all services essential for successful tours and events.
  • Organize products in a user-friendly, engaging, and informative manner.

Quotation and Proposal Management:

  • Maintain a comprehensive database of ongoing business and coordinate regular updates with stakeholders to meet requirements and deadlines.
  • Create visually appealing and informative proposals.
  • Organize and attend client site inspections, which may require international travel.

Operational Coordination:

  • Support booking and operational teams to meet deadlines by coordinating offers with each department.
  • Directly contact suppliers as necessary.
  • Attend events in person to coordinate services and address any issues that may arise.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit high-quality candidates.
  • Train, develop, and mentor team members.
  • Provide necessary support to the team.
  • Identify and analyze areas of need and propose suitable solutions.
  • Oversee team workload to ensure balance and provide support when required.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven team leader with a track record of developing, nurturing, and mentoring a team.
  • Confident, positive, and enthusiastic with excellent communication abilities.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively on projects.
  • Previous experience in securing and delivering MICE programs in Europe.
  • Demonstrated background in creating, proposing, and executing MICE and SIT packages.
  • Experience in producing high-quality event documentation.
  • Ability to alternate between detailed tasks and strategic planning.
  • Capable of multitasking and working under pressure while maintaining high standards of communication and attention to detail.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Some marketing knowledge, particularly in the use of social media and other marketing tools, is advantageous.

Experience & Background:

  • Extensive experience in the travel industry, particularly in the MICE and/or SIT sectors.
  • Understanding of how to unlock potential market growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop or expand a new or small service offering.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proactive self-starter.
  • Proficient in English: C1 level preferred, B2 minimum requirement.
