Job Title: Regional Finance Director

Job Summary:

Ark Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Finance Director to provide strategic financial leadership and management across our South London region. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance, including budgeting, reporting, and financial planning, as well as leading and developing a team of finance staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial leadership and direction to the region, ensuring that financial plans and budgets are aligned with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  • Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of finance, including budgeting, reporting, and financial planning, to ensure that the region's financial performance is optimized.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of finance staff, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
  • Financial Planning: Develop and implement financial plans and budgets that align with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, including the Schools Finance Director, Principals, and Local Governing Bodies.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure that all financial transactions and activities are in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Financial Systems: Develop and implement financial systems and processes that are efficient, effective, and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Professional Qualifications: Professional accountancy qualification, including significant post-qualifying experience.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in a financial management role, with a track record of success in leading and developing teams.
  • Financial Management Skills: Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement financial plans that align with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
