About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Consultant to join our team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant in General and Specialist Medicine, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, diagnosis, management, and treatment for patients with a broad spectrum of medical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise to the medical team, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans, taking into account the individual needs of each patient.
  • Act as an expert resource for medical, nursing, and other healthcare professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring they are evidence-based and aligned with best practice.
  • Participate in regular medical audit and quality improvement initiatives, using data to inform practice and improve patient care.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors, providing guidance and support to help them develop their clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council with a valid license to practice.
  • Registration on the GMC Specialist Register-CCT/ CESR or within 6 months of obtaining CCT.
  • Wide experience in General Internal Medicine (GIM).
  • Evidence of leading and motivating staff, with a proven track record of improving patient outcomes.
  • Good understanding of clinical governance and quality improvement principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
