Position Overview

Location : Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust

This role offers a unique opportunity to enhance foundational psychological expertise and competencies within the acute adult care sector, under the mentorship of licensed psychologists and clinical associate psychologists. The selected candidate will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in an acute mental health environment and within a Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment framework.

Responsibilities will include conducting psychological evaluations, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions for individuals facing complex and challenging mental health issues. Additionally, the role involves co-facilitating group therapy sessions and contributing to quality improvement initiatives, service assessments, and research efforts aimed at advancing service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a psychology graduate who is dedicated and enthusiastic about supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges, particularly those exhibiting difficult behaviors and significant distress. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to connect empathetically with clients and their families, showcasing sensitivity and understanding.

  • The individual will apply research methodologies for service audits, literature reviews, and other developmental projects.
  • Assist in facilitating group therapy sessions and assess the effectiveness of these interventions.
  • Utilize established outcome measures and client feedback to enhance service provision in alignment with clinical governance standards.
  • Receive regular clinical supervision from a qualified psychological professional.
  • Execute assigned tasks within the framework provided by the supervisor, ensuring ongoing support and guidance as necessary.
  • Deliver compassionate care grounded in empathy, respect, and dignity.
  • Stay informed about local resources and self-help options, ensuring accessibility for clients.
