Joining the Clinical Trials Department at The Royal Marsden Hospital comes at a pivotal moment. Our focus is on delivering high-quality services to both our patients and staff. The newly established aseptic and clinical trial facilities empower us to engage in innovative research and offer cutting-edge treatments, including gene therapy and CAR-T therapies.
We have recently implemented the EPIC digital health record system, and we aim to leverage its full potential to enhance the efficiency of our pharmacy teams, moving towards a fully paperless environment.

Key Responsibilities
The role entails supporting the Chief/Deputy Chief Technician Clinical Trials and Senior Clinical Trials Technicians in delivering the clinical trials service within the pharmacy department. Your responsibilities will encompass both technical and administrative tasks, conducted under the guidance of senior team members.
You will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of trials, which includes maintaining accurate stock control, record-keeping, and drug accountability for clinical trials.
Detailed Responsibilities
1. Maintain precise records of prescription logs entering and exiting the department to ensure a clear audit trail.
2. Collaborate closely with the pharmacy clinical trials dispensing team to minimize patient waiting times, coordinating with relevant staff as necessary.
3. Assist in the organization of the receipt, storage, and distribution of clinical trial medications within the Pharmacy Department.
4. Provide administrative support to Senior Technicians Clinical Trials, Deputy/Chief Technician Clinical Trials, Specialist Pharmacist Clinical Trials, Clinical Trials and Aseptic Services Operations Manager, and Lead Pharmacist Clinical Trials as required.
5. Help maintain adequate stock levels of medications, including ordering supplies to ensure uninterrupted dosing and recruitment.
6. Accurately document patient returns on Drug Accountability Forms and complete Destruction Forms once approved by the sponsor.

Essential Criteria
GCSE level (Grade A-C in English and Maths) or equivalent Numeracy and Literacy functional skills level 2.Desirable Criteria

Experience in a pharmacy setting. Familiarity with ordering and stock management. Background in NHS or other healthcare environments.Skills and Knowledge
