Job Title: Senior Practitioner - 3rd in Charge

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our team as 3rd in Charge at our Kiddi Caru Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in providing professional leadership and assisting in the day-to-day running of the nursery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Provide guidance and support to staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality childcare practices that meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Communication and Teamwork: Maintain effective methods of communication with children, staff, parents, and carers to ensure a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality of our childcare practices to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
  • Staff Development: Assist in agreeing and reviewing individual targets with staff to support their professional growth and development.
  • Operational Management: Assume playroom and additional management responsibilities when required to ensure the smooth operation of the nursery.
  • Financial Management: Ensure that practices and provision in the nursery meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and are delivered within agreed budgets.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Early Years or a related field.
  • Experience: Significant experience in a leadership or management role in a childcare setting.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • DBS Check: An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
