Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Site Reliability Engineer to enhance our software solutions, collaborate with development teams, and leverage modern telemetry data to sustain and elevate the performance of our essential systems.

The Site Reliability team plays a crucial role within our technology division.

By concentrating on application performance, reliability, availability, capacity, and overall health, you will partner with various teams across the platform department to ensure our vital systems remain dependable and observable. Your efforts will focus on providing solutions that minimize operational toil and enhance efficiency at scale for our critical systems.

You will engage with a diverse array of technologies, developing solutions, advising development teams, and utilizing contemporary observability and incident management tools to support the business. Your role will require making informed decisions to enhance the health and maintain the performance and availability of our most critical systems.

This position is eligible for inclusion in the company's hybrid working policy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of SRE principles, including the establishment and management of effective Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for reliability and customer satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with modern observability tools, techniques, and best practices, such as Splunk, New Relic, Grafana, and PagerDuty.
  • Proficient in programming languages including Python, Golang, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with contemporary software development methodologies and lifecycles.
  • Background in automation and orchestration platforms like Ansible and Jenkins.
  • Prior experience in a large-scale, 24/7 enterprise environment where system uptime and stability are critical to business operations.
  • Strong interest in industry trends, particularly in the DevOps space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating custom in-house tools using various technologies to deliver effective operational support for IT Operations.
  • Utilizing automation and orchestration platforms to streamline manual processes and reduce operational toil.
  • Designing advanced dashboards using diverse telemetry data and dashboarding technologies such as Grafana, Splunk, and New Relic.
  • Overseeing and managing existing monitoring and analytics toolsets.
  • Providing mentorship to colleagues on new technologies and practices.
  • Contributing to the advancement of team processes and methodologies.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across platform teams to identify requirements and solutions, address challenges, and advance projects.
  • Partnering with IT Operations to deliver and support critical tools that enhance business value.
