Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Flight Controls Systems Engineer to join our team at Matchtech. As a key member of our CoE Actuation and Landing Gear team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of our Falconworks program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Direction: Provide domain expertise to set the direction of the development of the Falconworks program, ensuring alignment with our business objectives.
  • Sub-System Development: Lead the full lifecycle development of actuation and landing gear sub-systems, meeting challenging first flight timescales and subsequent spiral development requirements.
  • Supplier Engagement: Engage with key suppliers to identify and engineer solutions to meet project requirements, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Provide SME support to other SDU-supported programs, including the Tempest Demonstrator and GCAP programs, and develop other SDU engineers in actuation and landing gear domains.
  • Platform Requirements: Create and manage platform-level requirements, ensuring consistency and alignment across the project.
  • Design Artefacts: Manage configuration control of all design artefacts through to design release, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Deviation Management: Coordinate and manage deviations, waivers, WQNs, and SPRs, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on project timelines.
  • Integration Support: Interface with CEM, System Delivery Units, and Air Functions to ensure appropriate support to integration activities across all Falconworks programs.
  • Engineering Effort: Interface with PEMs/PTMs to ensure appropriate engineering effort to deliver all Falconworks programs.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in flight controls systems engineering, with a focus on actuation and landing gear.
  • Strong understanding of program direction, sub-system development, supplier engagement, and subject matter expertise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting challenging deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
