About the Role

Mackinnon Bruce International is seeking a highly motivated Senior Ecologist to join their growing team in Belfast, Northern Ireland. As a key member of the Ecology practice, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality ecological services to clients across the Water & Environment, Transportation & Infrastructure markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct a wide range of surveys, including bat surveys, mammal surveys, and phase 1 habitat surveys.
  • Prepare and submit planning and marine applications.
  • Meet project deadlines and deliver results that meet internal and external client expectations.
  • Participate in field surveys and assessments, as well as research and analysis across various projects.
  • Collaborate with senior directors and support functions to identify business development opportunities.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff within the team.
Requirements
  • Full driving license.
  • Proficiency in field software applications, including GIS and MS Office.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of current UK and Irish legislation and policies.
