Role Responsibilities
We are seeking a Locum Consultant Haematologist with a robust background and a focused interest in non-malignant haematology, particularly in the areas of haemostasis and thrombosis.
This role offers a stimulating environment for a passionate and committed Consultant Haematologist to become part of our specialized teams in haemostasis and thrombosis within the haematology department.
You will collaborate with a supportive and dedicated group of haematology consultants, clinical nurse specialists, and research nurses. Our institution is recognized as a Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre and has recently established a regional centre for Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura. The service is continuously advancing, and we are looking for a candidate who is motivated to enhance patient care and overall experience.

Key Responsibilities
YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
You will oversee the medical management of non-malignant haematology patients in both outpatient and inpatient environments. Collaboration with the haemostasis and thrombosis team, as well as the broader haematology department, will be essential. Opportunities to refine your expertise in haemostasis, thrombosis, TTP, immune haematology, and clinical trials will be available.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Managing patients with general haematological conditions, thrombosis, bleeding disorders, and immune-related haematological issues in an outpatient context.
- Overseeing inpatient care for individuals with bleeding disorders, TTP, and other immune haematological conditions.
- Engaging in case discussions at local and regional multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Actively participating in the recruitment and management of patients involved in clinical trials.
- Contributing to the non-resident on-call consultant coverage for haemostasis, TTP, and transfusion services.
- Playing a vital role in the education and training of junior medical staff, nursing personnel, and allied health professionals.
- Providing haematology consultation and guidance to general practitioners and other specialties.
