Business Unit Overview:
BlackRock's Private Debt Platform is comprised of over 200 investment professionals across 19 global offices, managing more than $86 billion in assets under management (AUM) across diverse asset classes, including Real Estate Debt.

We are seeking a Private Debt Investor Relations Professional, also referred to as a Product Strategist, to be based in London. This role is pivotal in driving business expansion related to our various strategies.

As a Product Strategist, you will collaborate closely with our Investment Professionals, serving as the essential link between investment teams and our client-facing business. You will play a crucial role in enhancing connectivity between investors and distribution channels.

Product Strategists are vital members of the Private Debt team, acting as commercial partners with their respective investment teams for both internal and external clients, providing specialized insights into products, investments, and market trends.

The Global Private Debt Product Strategy team is tasked with representing our diverse range of credit investment strategies to clients and internal stakeholders.

We are looking to hire a product strategist to bolster our Private Credit initiative, a key growth area for the firm.

This senior role will involve overseeing fundraising campaigns for our alternative credit products, particularly focusing on our Multi-Debt and European Direct Private Debt strategies.

In this position, you will be expected to partner with key stakeholders, including investment, distribution, and operational teams, and will be accountable for managing strategy development from initial concept through to launch and ongoing campaign management.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide array of stakeholders, manage multiple initiatives, and develop a deep understanding of private debt while collaborating with Portfolio Managers and engaging with clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with clients to create tailored solutions in Multi-Debt Funds and European Private Debt.
  • Serving as a primary contact and client-facing strategist to address inquiries from the internal sales team, existing clients, and prospective clients.
  • Coordinating with internal business units (legal, business management, fund administration, operations, risk, and portfolio analytics) on new product development, customized solutions, and other offerings.

A Bachelor's degree from a prestigious undergraduate institution is required, along with strong quantitative and qualitative skills; CFA/CAIA/MBA credentials are advantageous.

Applicants should have a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the financial services sector, with specific knowledge of Credit and Alternatives being a plus.

Experience in product development, particularly with commingled and single-investor private fund structures, including legal and tax considerations, as well as investor and operational support models, is essential.

A background in investment and markets, ideally with experience in credit and closed-end private equity-style products, is preferred.

The ability to clearly articulate objectives across a range of stakeholders, including senior management, and to explain the rationale behind those goals is crucial.

Candidates must demonstrate the capability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.

Strong cross-functional team-building and management skills are necessary, including collaboration with various distribution channels, marketing, product administration, legal, and compliance.

Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.
