Introduction to the Role

At Turning Point, our mission is to deliver exceptional, individualized support to enhance the lives of those we serve. We believe in empowering individuals to achieve their personal goals and live fulfilling lives.

We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, whether you have experience in healthcare, mental health, or are transitioning from retail, as we prioritize values over prior experience.

As a dedicated Personal Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals to maintain their independence in their own homes, ensuring they have control over their support plans. We seek compassionate and driven individuals to join our team, where we foster independence within a nurturing environment.

Turning Point operates across various regions, and we are currently seeking Personal Care Assistants for supported living facilities.

Our approach is centered around the unique needs and preferences of each individual. You will actively engage individuals in community activities and hobbies, including sports, arts and crafts, and more.

Work Environment

Your role will be based in one of our supported living services. We provide round-the-clock support to individuals with learning disabilities and autism, with varying levels of care required. Some individuals may have complex health needs, while others may need assistance with daily living tasks.

We strive to cultivate supportive relationships, focusing on person-centered care that includes activities such as shopping, budgeting, and cooking. Our services are tailored to promote maximum independence.

Shift Availability

This role requires flexibility, as you will work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and nights, along with some weekends.

  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals
  • Providing personal care assistance
  • Handling medication management
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service evaluations.

  • Compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated
  • Flexible, patient, and open-minded
  • A collaborative team player with high energy
  • Effective in communication
  • Capable of performing physical tasks, including manual handling
  • Experienced in supporting individuals with anxiety management.

A valid driving license is required.
