Playground Games is seeking a Build Engineer to enhance our Fable team on a contractual basis.

Role Responsibilities:

In the capacity of a Build Engineer, you will take charge of designing, implementing, and maintaining automated processes that are crucial to the delivery of our game and tools. Your collaboration with internal stakeholders will be essential, making effective communication and teamwork vital attributes. You should be highly motivated and approachable, with a strong commitment to optimizing the development process.

Your enthusiasm for utilizing cutting-edge hardware and software will enable you to manage and enhance a substantial build server installation in an automated and efficient manner, while also working to refine the development workflow.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensuring the reliability of critical Continuous Integration pipelines
  • Analyzing and reporting on pipeline stability and identifying areas for improvement
  • Assisting developers in adhering to best practices for Version Control
  • Automating frequently used workflow patterns for team-wide use
  • Staying informed about advancements in scripting languages and build systems

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in one or more scripting languages, such as Powershell
  • Familiarity with continuous integration systems, such as TeamCity
  • Understanding of source control systems, such as Perforce
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, such as Powershell DSC, is advantageous
  • Knowledge of C# is a plus
  • Experience working with Azure is beneficial
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A genuine passion for gaming
