Job Title: Electrical Systems Engineer

Optamor is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our cutting-edge electric vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including wiring and electrical hardware, to meet installation, environmental, and EMC requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Logistics, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop and maintain electrical system specifications, drawings, and reports.
  • Conduct fault identification and resolution, including management of issues through our robust 8D process.
  • Release ownership of harnesses and manage change control.
  • Lead Design FMEA, Routing Quality Assessment, DVP&R, and PV sign-off.
  • Manage Tier 1 supplier relationships and coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, and Quality teams.
  • Provide support and training to Manufacturing and Service departments.
Requirements:
  • Understanding of Automotive New Product Development Process and milestones.
  • Demonstrable experience in automotive electrical wiring and power distribution system design, development, and manufacture.
  • Good experience and knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, ECUs, and other electrically wired components.
  • Experience in design for good electrical and EMC performance.
  • Knowledge of hybrid and full-electric electrical vehicle architectures and wiring systems.
  • Desirable experience in circuit design, wiring/fusing systems, and electrical packaging.
  • Excellent understanding of 2D drawings and electrical circuits.
  • Experience in creating Harness Change Requests and managing implementation through design release and suppliers.
  • Hands-on experience in minor electrical reworks is highly desirable.
  • Experience in system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma, or similar framework.
  • Experience in leading DFMEA and System (Electrical Interface) Reviews.
  • Experience in managing harness complexities, component databases (DTs).
  • Experience in harness testing and validation process and engineering sign-off.
  • Ability to use various engineering development tools and collaborative platforms such as Microsoft Office 365.
Education:
  • Honor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Honor's degree in similar areas such as Electronics, Control Systems, or Automotive Engineering, acceptable with relevant experience in the field.
  • Other recognized engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
