Midland Mencap is seeking a dedicated Child Wellbeing Officer to join our Family Wellbeing Service team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in identifying and supporting families who provide unpaid care to individuals with disabilities and illnesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Statutory Carers Assessments and Wellbeing Assessments to assess the needs of unpaid carers
- Provide quality information, advice, and guidance to support the wellbeing of unpaid carers
- Work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders to identify and engage individual and community asset-based strengths
- Support the marketing and promotion of the service and Birmingham Carers Hub offer to unpaid carers and potential referral agencies
- Participate in regular reviews of activities and case work, ensuring good quality risk assessments and person-centred wellbeing plans are in place
Requirements:
- Experience working with unpaid carers and families with children, young people, or adults with disabilities or illnesses
- Ability to identify and act upon safeguarding issues in relation to multi-agency guidelines
- Understanding of the barriers facing unpaid carers, particularly those from hard-to-reach backgrounds
- Ability to work within a rota system to meet the demands of a busy service
