Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Software Engineer to join our team at Sanderson Government & Defence. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based solutions for our Defence and Cyber Security programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop cloud-based solutions using AWS technologies, ensuring scalability, availability, and security.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  3. Take ownership of solution design and architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
  4. Develop and maintain technical strategies, roadmaps, and vision to align with business cases and enterprise standards.
  5. Provide technical design authority and governance for cloud solution architectures.
  6. Resolve technical disputes and provide technical consultancy for new initiatives.
  7. Ensure proposed solutions meet key non-functional requirements.
  8. Provide hands-on leadership to protect scheduling commitments and outcomes.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  1. Strong experience with Agile methodologies and tools, including Scrum, Kanban, JIRA, and Confluence.
  2. Proficient in cloud technologies and services, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  3. Good knowledge of CI/CD practices, including Jenkins, GitLab, and GitHub.
  4. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, and Puppet.
  5. Knowledge of container technologies and orchestration engines, including Docker, Rocket, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
  6. Experience with Zero Trust and Micro Services Architectures.
  7. Proficient in Java and other languages, including Python.
  8. Experience in full-stack system design and testing frameworks.
  9. Experience in developing on Linux and/or Windows platforms.
  10. Experience with Oracle Relational Databases and Mongo.
  11. Familiarity with DevOps and DevSecOps philosophies.
