Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry

The Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Salisbury. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing expert care and support to patients in the community.
Main Responsibilities- Assess and treat patients in the community, providing expert psychiatric care and support.
- Undertake urgent and routine psychiatric assessments, working closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals.
- Liaise with other parts of the service and GPs, as well as non-NHS organisations, to ensure seamless care and support.
- Provide advice and consultation to members of the multi-disciplinary team, attending regular meetings and contributing to decision-making.
- Ensure effective and timely documentation and communication of clinical decision-making and management plans.

Person Specification- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Relevant Higher Degree (e.g. MD, PhD, MSc) or other additional clinical qualifications.
- MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of gaining CCT.
- Approved clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
- Approved under S12 or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
