As a Senior Software Developer, you will leverage your extensive experience and technical acumen to spearhead the creation of top-notch, innovative software solutions. Collaborating openly with a diverse array of technical and subject matter experts within our client's development team and across their organization is essential.
This position offers the flexibility of remote or hybrid work arrangements, allowing you to operate from anywhere within the UK.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Senior Software Developer, you will be tasked with enhancing various methodologies aimed at the design, development, and acceptance of software solutions. You will work closely with the Product Owner to comprehend customer needs and gather insights to guide solution scoping.

Your responsibilities will include researching solutions and disseminating findings to your peers, proposing enhancements, and providing evidence when challenged. You will also stay attuned to emerging trends, advocating for the adoption of design patterns and best practices. Furthermore, you will conduct critical evaluations, question assumptions, and determine the most suitable acceptance criteria to mitigate potential risks.

In summary, your duties will include:

  • Enhancing and adhering to Agile methodologies for the design, development, and acceptance of software solutions.
  • Collaborating with the Product Owner to grasp customer requirements and gain insights for solution scoping.
  • Conducting critical evaluations, questioning assumptions, and identifying the most appropriate acceptance criteria to minimize risks.
  • Performing requirements analysis, scoping, specification definition, data analysis, and project management as necessary to fulfill solution needs.
  • Producing production code and conducting code reviews with the team, demonstrating comfort in both independent and collaborative settings, while guiding and mentoring as needed.
  • Identifying emerging trends and recommending the adoption of design patterns and best practices.
  • Taking ownership and holding oneself accountable for the high quality and efficiency of team deliverables.
  • Demonstrating eagerness to learn, researching solutions, and sharing insights with others while making constructive suggestions.
  • Engaging positively and collaboratively with colleagues and clients.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Expertise in TDD, BDD, SOLID Principles, Domain Driven Design, and Refactoring.
  • Comprehensive experience with various software languages and tools, including C#, MVC, .NET framework, TSQL, Unit Testing frameworks, Infrastructure as Code, mocking libraries, JavaScript frameworks such as React, and familiarity with ORMs.
  • Proficiency in Agile & Scrum development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and design capabilities.
  • Interpersonal skills aimed at building and maintaining relationships through open communication and self-improvement.
  • A customer-oriented, problem-solving mindset, committed to fostering and embracing change at both personal and organizational levels, including coaching and mentoring others.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external audiences, including participation in agile ceremonies and providing updates.
