We are seeking a highly skilled Item Checker to join our team at the Scottish Qualifications Authority.

The Item Checker will be responsible for reviewing questions, items, or tasks and appropriate supporting marking instructions for course assessments under the direction of the Principal Assessor.

The successful candidate will be required to attend a checking meeting, which will be held in the early Autumn season. Release fees or own time fees will be paid for attendance at meetings. Expenses will also be reimbursed.

All applications will be automatically acknowledged. Please note that applicants are unable to complete an application form using a mobile device. To complete and submit an application, a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer must be used.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review questions, items, or tasks for course assessments
  • Develop and implement marking instructions under the direction of the Principal Assessor
  • Attend a checking meeting in the early Autumn season
  • Reimbursement of expenses and payment of release fees or own time fees

Requirements:

  • Highly skilled and experienced in reviewing and developing marking instructions
  • Ability to work under the direction of the Principal Assessor
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
