About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Gov Facility Services Ltd. As a key member of our Facilities Maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our prison facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside experienced colleagues to maintain and repair mechanical systems, including plumbing and heating.
  • Ensure compliance with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and implement improvements to our facilities management processes.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our prison staff and prisoners.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with and ability to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
