Maintenance Engineer Job Description

Ensinger GmbH is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Bridgwater, Somerset. As a key member of our Production department, you will be responsible for conducting proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs for all machines within our Ensinger Machined Parts (EMP) business unit.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance of machines, including upkeep, servicing, and repairs.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and record findings in accordance with legislation and policy.
  • Coordinate with external contractors as needed, issuing and recording permits to work.
  • Ensure safety is adhered to at all times, reporting any faults or issues immediately.
  • Perform general site servicing and housekeeping, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Advise colleagues on safety matters and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Sourcing and ordering of machine spares and maintenance supplies.
  • Understand and interpret machine manuals and drawings.
  • Comply with all reasonable requests made by the Production Manager and observe Company Health and Safety policy.

Requirements:

  • Background in mechanical engineering or mechatronics.
  • Electrical knowledge and ability to read drawings and understand manuals.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with ability to work unsupervised and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to logically fault find and work in a fast-paced environment.
