Role Overview
In the capacity of a Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in defining the strategic direction for the Group Protection Business. You will collaborate closely with the agile product delivery team to bring this strategy to fruition, ensuring that business objectives are met.
The Product Owner serves as the customer advocate within the agile delivery team, ensuring that the team maximizes value by translating the vision and business goals into a well-defined roadmap and backlog that you will oversee. This role necessitates maintaining effective feedback channels with actual users, including customers, advisers, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Collecting and analyzing feedback from customers and users to identify problems and potential solutions.
- Establishing the vision for the agile delivery team in collaboration with the Sponsor and managing the Product Roadmap to align with product and company strategies.
- Prioritizing the delivery team backlog to maximize value while ensuring the long-term sustainability of the product.
- Collaborating with the agile delivery team to communicate the vision and business strategy, actively participating in team events such as iteration planning and retrospectives.
- Preparing presentations and representing the team's work to senior leadership.
- Building collaborative relationships across the organization to enhance cooperation and improve customer and business outcomes.
- Designing and conducting experiments to validate hypotheses in a low-risk manner, using data to inform future priorities.
- Supporting the organization in its ongoing transformation towards a more agile, customer-focused business.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in the relevant business domain, including regulatory considerations.
- General experience in the financial services industry.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver tangible business outcomes and advocate for their value at all organizational levels.
- Strong communication skills suitable for engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret data effectively and identify valuable metrics for decision-making.
- Experience working within an agile team and familiarity with agile methodologies.
- Experience supporting organizations through agile transformations.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to track and act upon metrics, design tests, and collaborate with engineering and data science teams.
