Job Title: Principal Engineer - Product Safety Engineering

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Product Safety Engineering to join our team. As a key member of our Product Safety Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our products and systems.

About the Role:

You will be working on highly complex systems within the Submarine programme, responsible for the governance of safety analysis and assessment activities. You will also be required to educate wider areas of the business to ensure adherence to policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct safety risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety is integrated into product development
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues on safety best practices
Requirements:
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Industrial Controls Systems
  • TUV Functional Safety Expert
  • Experience with software and hardware
  • IEC 61508 or IEC 61511
