Plant Maintenance Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Biogen (UK) Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our anaerobic digestion (AD) plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the General Manager in maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Implement and maintain Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) systems to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements:

  • Qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a related process industry.
  • Experience with engineering, PLC controls, or electronics is highly desirable.
  • Hold a qualification or possess experience in materials handling, confined spaces, working at heights, and first aid.
  • Ability to follow procedure and protocol, with experience of cost control and managing budgets.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and with good people management experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

  • A competitive salary of up to £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
