A dynamic and experienced Charge Nurse is required to lead a team of healthcare professionals in a low secure hospital setting. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a reputable healthcare provider in the Ayr, Scotland area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing admissions and discharges, planning the nursing staff roster, and supervising and guiding other nurses and carers in their work. They will also be responsible for monitoring patients, administering medication, and reporting patient conditions to doctors.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in quality service delivery and development, with the ability to lead and motivate others. They will also have experience working in inpatient mental health settings and be able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.

The successful Charge Nurse will receive a competitive salary of £42,629 - £45,897 per annum, plus a range of benefits including free parking, free meals, and CPD training and development. They will also have access to a pension scheme and other company benefits.

To be considered for this role, the candidate must be qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a current active NMC Pin. They must also have a strong track record of leadership and management, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.

This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours a week. The successful candidate will be based in the Ayr, Scotland area and will be required to work in a low secure hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing admissions and discharges
  • Planning the nursing staff roster
  • Supervising and guiding other nurses and carers
  • Monitoring patients and administering medication
  • Maintaining inventories of medical supplies and medicines
  • Mentoring and training new staff

Requirements:

  • Qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a current active NMC Pin
  • Experience working in inpatient mental health settings

  • Strong track record of leadership and management
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
