Design Manager - AutoCAD

Madisons Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all construction drawings and designs are produced on time, to a high-quality standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design Management: Manage the development and implementation of design proposals, ensuring they meet client expectations.
  2. Design Quality: Adhere to budget constraints to maintain developed design as financially viable.
  3. Design Coordination: Oversee the design process using technical expertise, ensuring thorough documentation of the design and development.
  4. Design Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing building legislation and codes of practice relating to design.
  5. Project Coordination: Coordinate the submission of information to satisfy building control compliance.
  6. Design Leadership: Lead the coordination and production of design data, bid deliverables, reports, and documentation essential to the project and contractual requirements.
  7. Design Oversight: Oversee the design of multiple projects throughout the contract period.
  8. Design Review: Review and understand architectural design intent documentation to develop acceptable construction solutions.
  9. Design Coordination: Coordinate subcontractor drawings from various trades to ascertain any conflicts and produce a cohesive overall design.
  10. Design Support: Provide design & technical support to all departments throughout the design and construction phase.
  11. Design Meetings: Attend design team meetings and lead the process with consultants and subcontract designers.
  12. Site Reporting: Prepare full site reports from site surveys on progress, quality, and compliance.
Requirements:
  1. Design Experience: Hard metal Roofing and Cladding Design Experience 5+ years preferable.
  2. Driving Licence: Full Driving Licence.
  3. Further Education: Construction/design-related further education advantageous.
  4. Qualifications: Construction/design-related HNC/HND/Degree advantageous.
  5. Design Competency: High-level competency with AutoCAD and BIM.
  6. Document Management: Familiarity with online document portals.
