About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Ophthalmology team as a Data Management Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient wait times management system.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated work on patient wait times within the Ophthalmology Department to nationally agreed wait times for both new and follow-up patients.
  • Liaise closely with consultants, patients, medical and nursing staff, patient access, appointments, support services, and service managers to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Line manage a small administration team, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of administrative tasks.
  • Work autonomously, making decisions under pressure, and demonstrate a flexible approach to ensure processes are implemented, adhered to, maintained, and improved.
  • Monitor and validate RTT PTLs, highlighting concerns or issues to the Failsafe Officer/RTT Navigator.
  • Liaise with the central booking office, pre-operative assessment, and the patient access team to ensure patient wait times are met.
