Role Overview:

Thales is seeking to hire a dedicated and detail-oriented Customer Order Specialist (12-month Fixed Term Contract) to serve as the main point of contact for customers, delivering a range of direct services throughout the new build, spare parts, and repair cycles. This role involves direct interaction with customers, both internal and external, through various meetings.

This team is focused on customer satisfaction, driven by collaboration to ensure that goals are met and optimal outcomes are achieved for our clients. Your responsibilities will include supporting the attainment of business unit financial and strategic goals, ensuring adherence to ethical and contractual obligations, and maintaining the commercial integrity of commitments made on behalf of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process all inquiries received by the Service Management Office appropriately
  • Manage effective proactive and reactive communications with customers and internally across the organization
  • Collaborate across the business to resolve customer inquiries of varying complexity
  • Maintain up-to-date reporting systems/tools and ensure accurate status updates
  • Ensure that customer agreements are comprehended by all relevant parties and that the latest version of the customer contract is accessible electronically
  • Monitor all aspects of customer new build, spare parts, and repair programs, including status, priorities, forecasting, and delays, through continuous review and reporting
  • Foster relationships with internal and external customers to ensure high service standards
  • Accurate data entry for all release, shipping, and dispatch documents to ensure timely shipments and compliance with trade regulations
  • Release repairs, spare parts, and manufactured items through the appropriate business systems, ensuring accuracy in all transactions
  • Encourage ongoing improvements through LEAN methodologies

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience managing customers in a diverse international market
  • Familiarity with Oracle or equivalent ERP systems
  • Preferably experienced in manufacturing and MRP processes within a technology sector
  • Understanding of shipping, export, and logistics is desirable but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of purchasing, supply chain, and outsourced repairs
  • Experience with spare parts or repairs in an aerospace or technology context
  • Commercial awareness and experience
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with colleagues at various levels
  • Strong numeracy skills, with the ability to compile and present data using Excel
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Proactive and shows initiative
  • Logical planning and proactive management of responsibilities
