Position Overview
The Senior Risk Analyst will engage in various functions within the organization's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Team to facilitate the proficient management of risk and control.
This position will collaborate with the organization to foster a robust and effective internal control framework, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and organizational standards. Additionally, the role will contribute to the organization’s sustainability efforts, aiming to integrate sustainable practices into business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the enhancement of the risk management framework through:
- Building relationships with various departments to serve as the ERM partner for multiple business units, including underwriting, claims, operations, and finance, to assist the first line in managing risks effectively.
- Establishing processes for risk identification, evaluation, analysis, monitoring, and reporting, which includes aiding the first line in maintaining the Risk Register and documenting risks, controls, and risk events.
- Facilitating risk and control assessment workshops.
- Developing strong connections with Head Office and key stakeholders across the organization, providing necessary reporting and notifications.
- Assisting in the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, including the documentation and tracking of ESG factors in the risk register.
- Supporting the identification, reporting, and monitoring of Emerging Risks.
- Collaborating with Compliance to ensure adherence to local and Group standards.
Assist the Head of Enterprise Risk Management in executing tasks such as:
- Preparing ERM presentations and reports for committees and stakeholders.
- Embedding the Risk Management Framework, including supporting policies and procedures.
- Providing risk oversight for new projects, initiatives, products, and business plans, including stress testing.
- Facilitating regulatory reporting processes.
- Integrating the Ireland business into the existing risk framework, ensuring proportional management and reporting.
- Promoting a strong risk culture within the organization, advocating for transparency and accountability.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in risk management, including risk assessment, control effectiveness, and reporting, with familiarity in using risk management software.
- Background in the insurance sector, preferably general insurance, with an understanding of key functions and processes.
- A graduate degree or professional certification in a relevant field is preferred.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships across various levels of the organization.
- A proactive individual capable of simplifying complex concepts through analytical thinking.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and interpret large datasets.
