Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Teaching Assistant at Nigel Bowes Academy, an Outstanding primary school for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

Job Role
  • Support the learning and wellbeing of pupils with complex needs
  • Work alongside a teacher to maintain a positive and learning-focused classroom environment
  • Develop effective relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive and supportive team
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the teacher in planning and delivering lessons to meet the needs of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties
  • Assist with the implementation of behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour for learning
  • Contribute to the development of a calm and learning-focused environment, promoting the wellbeing and academic achievement of pupils

Requirements
  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
