Naim Audio is seeking a dedicated and versatile Senior Electronics Engineer to become an integral part of our esteemed research and development team.

Role Overview:
As a key member of the R&D team, you will collaborate closely with embedded software developers, mechanical engineers, and testing specialists.


From the initial concept stage to full-scale production, your responsibilities will encompass the entire electronics design workflow, including:

  • Simulating circuits and prototyping
  • Creating schematics and designing printed circuit boards (PCBs)
  • Testing prototypes and facilitating the transition to manufacturing


Key Responsibilities:

Electronics Design:
- Design of digital circuits, including components like microprocessors, DSPs, FPGAs, and DACs/ADCs.
- High-speed digital design and power supply design (both linear and switched mode).
- Simulation and design of analog circuits, including amplifiers and audio filters.
- Conducting peer reviews of electronics designs and architecture evaluations.
- Assessing design feasibility.


ECAD Design:
- Schematic design and PCB layout, including analog and power PCB design.
- Designing interconnections for flexible printed circuits (FPC) and PCBs.
- Integrating systems and collaborating with suppliers and third-party consultants.


Required Skills and Expertise:

You should possess a robust background in electronics, ideally with experience in contemporary digital technologies, particularly in high-speed digital signal processing associated with DSP and FPGA designs.

Familiarity with RF technologies, such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, is advantageous, as is experience with EMC-sensitive applications.

Demonstrated knowledge in various technical domains related to digital systems design, including:

  • Digital audio systems
  • High-speed circuit design
  • FPGA or RF design

Proficiency in lab skills, such as debugging prototypes in collaboration with firmware engineers and utilizing modern test equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, is essential.

Experience with ECAD tools, preferably Altium, and knowledge of global safety and EMC standards are also required.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field
- Over 8 years of experience in a commercial setting, focusing on the design of complex electronic products.

Experience in digital electronics design is mandatory, while analog electronics design experience is a plus. Background in the audio industry and experience in a leadership role would be beneficial.
