Overview:
Naim Audio is seeking a dedicated and skilled Electronics Engineer to contribute to our innovative research and development team.

Role Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will engage in a variety of tasks, collaborating with embedded software engineers, mechanical designers, and test engineers throughout the entire electronics design process. This includes:

  • Designing digital circuits with components such as Microprocessors, DSP, FPGA, and DAC/ADC.
  • Executing high-speed digital designs and power supply designs, both linear and switched mode.
  • Simulating and designing analogue circuits, including amplifiers and audio filters.
  • Prototyping and conducting bench tests on PCBs and circuits.
  • Participating in electronics design peer reviews and architecture evaluations.
  • Assessing design feasibility and ensuring compliance with global safety and EMC standards.

ECAD Design Responsibilities:
Key duties will also involve:

  • Creating schematic designs and PCB layouts.
  • Designing analogue and power PCBs.
  • Facilitating system integration and liaising with suppliers and third-party consultants.
  • Custom component design and sourcing component samples.

Technical Skills Required:
The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in electronics, particularly in modern digital technologies. Key skills include:

  • Experience with high-speed digital signals, DSP, and FPGA designs.
  • Familiarity with RF technologies such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  • Knowledge of digital audio systems and high-speed circuit design.
  • Proficiency in using ECAD tools, preferably Altium.
  • Lab skills for debugging prototypes and utilizing modern test equipment.

Qualifications:
The candidate should hold a degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field, with over 8 years of experience in designing complex electronic products. Experience in digital electronics design is essential, while analogue design experience is advantageous.
