About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Admiral Nurse Specialist to join our team at Douglas Macmillan Hospice. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing expert care and support to individuals and families affected by dementia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist bi-psychosocial nursing assessment, evidence-based intervention, and emotional support to individuals and families affected by dementia.
  • Offer consultancy to healthcare professionals, carers, and other stakeholders to promote best practice in dementia care.
  • Develop and implement effective care plans, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, mentoring, and education to maintain and enhance your clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and protocols relevant to Admiral Nursing and dementia care.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (RMN/RGN/RNLD) with a post-registration qualification in dementia care or a related field.
  • Substantial experience of working with individuals and families affected by dementia, with a strong understanding of the complexities of dementia care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong clinical skills, with the ability to assess, plan, and implement effective care interventions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care.
