About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Capital, Estates and Facilities Management (CEFM) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe management of our facilities and services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the Head of Estates Safety, Compliance & Resilience in ensuring the safe management of our facilities and services.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to our divisions, corporate directorates, governance groups, and senior managers.
  • Develop and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and implement controls to mitigate risks.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure that our staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to manage health and safety risks.
Requirements
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in health and safety.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in health and safety.
  • Substantial experience of working in a health and safety role at a large or complex organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
