About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Officer to join our team at Service Care Solutions Ltd. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, secure, and maintained environment across our hubs in Essex.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Act as a key holder for all hubs and participate in an on-call rota for alarm calls outside of regular working hours.
  2. Manage the cleaning contractors, ensuring the cleanliness of all sites and conducting monthly walk rounds with the Cleaning Contract Manager.
  3. Coordinate space and health and safety activities, including events held at the hubs, and update occupancy reports on a daily basis to support space planning requirements.
  4. Act as Fire Marshal and First Aider, coordinating the rotas and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
  5. Perform building and statutory maintenance, including minor repairs, and monitor building management systems to identify and rectify issues.
  6. Procure materials and services in line with established protocols, systems, and value for money principles, including timely renewal of contracts to avoid operational and/or business interruption.
  7. Support environmental aspects of facilities management and source adequate supplies of consumables.
  8. Arrange contractors and sub-contractors to conduct works to the buildings and manage hub access control, including the issuing, deactivation, and tracking of identity badges.
  9. Provide hub induction tours for colleagues and ensure building health and safety, including risk assessments, risk control, and safe ways of working.
About You
  1. We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in a similar role and a qualification in facilities management, or working towards a qualification and holding an IWFM Certification.
  2. You should have knowledge of health and safety legislation, including IOSH, COSHH, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
  3. IT literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office are essential, as well as the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  4. You should be able to establish and maintain excellent internal and external customer relationships and have a professional and positive can-do attitude.
  5. Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required, as well as the ability to travel to various locations as necessary.
