Exciting Opportunity for a RF Communications Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled RF Communications Engineer to join our client's innovative team in Milton Keynes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge RF measurement and instrumentation solutions for satellite and aerospace systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain measurement/test solutions for link/modem validation.
  2. Analyse calibration and metrology aspects, including statistical error analysis and error budgets.
  3. Design and implement modular, reusable software in Python for various setups.
  4. Troubleshoot and analyse link-performance issues.
  5. Collaborate with DSP, hardware, and software teams to enhance system performance.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
  2. 2+ years of experience with RF measurement and instrumentation.
  3. 2+ years of programming experience using Python, LabVIEW, SQL, or Embedded C.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

  1. Proficiency with Linux operating systems, VLANs, and network security.
  2. Hands-on RF measurement experience with analyzers, vector signal generators, power sensors, and network analyzers.
  3. Knowledge of physical-layer modem algorithms/standards (DVB-S2, CCSDS, SG NTN).
  4. Experience with link-performance measurement (link/protocol testers, channel emulators).
  5. Collaborative software design experience (GIT, code reviews).
  6. Antenna range experience and OTA experiment design.
  7. RF test automation experience (SCPI, test executive).
  8. Statistical analysis and metrology expertise.
