RF Test Engineer Job Description

Location: Flexible

Duration: 6 month contract

Job Role:

Our defence client is seeking an experienced RF Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. The team is responsible for a variety of RF work, including RCS prediction and measurement, antennas, RF testing, radar systems, and radio altimeters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support various tasks, including testing, component-level assembly, and rework.
  • Have exposure/bias towards RF technology across the full product life cycle.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team, with awareness and understanding of the challenges that this may bring.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of electronic technologies and products.
  • Familiar with RF circuits and components across a wide range of frequencies.
  • Practical skills - soldering, fault finding, and RF component-level assembly.
  • Use of RF laboratory test equipment - spectrum analysers, VNA's, power meters.
  • Ability to use CAD software such as KiCAD or ORCAD.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written reports and presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work autonomously within a multi-skilled team, with a good understanding and dedication to achieving project goals.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent industry experience) with experience in electronic design, development, and delivery; preferably in defence or related industry.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team, with the awareness and understanding of the challenges that this may bring.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of electronic technologies and products.
  • Familiar with RF circuits and components across a wide range of frequencies.
