Job Title: Locum Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Specialty Doctor to join our team in Emergency Medicine at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in the Urgent and Emergency Care department, working autonomously and taking responsibility for patients under their care.

The post holder will be a senior member of the Urgent and Emergency Care Service, providing senior-level decision making to support junior doctors and clinical colleagues within the department.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Undertake independent assessment of patients, employing clinical decision skills to formulate management plans.
  • Provide senior-level decision making to support junior doctors and clinical colleagues.
  • Work and build professional relationships with clinicians, nursing teams, and admin support.
  • Contribute to the management of clinical risk by reporting incidents and near misses.
  • Ensure record-keeping meets Trust and Division standards.
  • Attend training for health and safety purposes when required.
  • Deliver a team approach to care through explicit lines of communication.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary forums to ensure patient care is appropriate to their needs.
Person Specification:
  • Full GMC Registration.
  • MBBS or equivalent.
  • Current ALS, ATLS, and/or ETC & APLS and/or EPLS certificates.
Clinical Care:
  • Experience in an Emergency Department or Acute Specialties at F1 / F2.
  • Ability to work autonomously within practice framework.
Clinical Knowledge:
  • Keeps professional knowledge up-to-date.
  • Keeps professional skills up-to-date.
