Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Property Paralegal to join our Legal team on a fixed-term basis until 31st December 2025. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality legal advice on a broad range of commercial property law matters, reporting into the Property and Commercial Law Manager.

Main Responsibilities
  • Commercial Property Law: Undertake all aspects of commercial property and general property law, with a particular focus on landlord and tenant matters.
  • Commercial Leases: Draft and review commercial leases, licences for land occupation, telecommunication leases, and understand the Electronic Communications Code 2003.
  • Telecommunication Wayleaves: Draft and review telecommunication wayleaves.
  • Commercial Shop Leases: Support with commercial shop leases, assignment, deed of surrender, and rent deposits and forfeiture.
  • Land Licences: Draft and review land licences for short-term occupation of land.
  • Residential Conveyancing: Deal with both the sale and purchase of registered and unregistered, freehold and leasehold property, including shared ownership and staircasing.
  • General Property Litigation: Undertake general boundary disputes, ownership queries, encroachment, trespassing, and general property litigation.
  • Land Rectification: Support with land rectification matters, including land swaps to third parties, title anomalies, and associated conveyancing.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: A law degree or other relevant professional qualification.
  • Experience: Experience as a Paralegal, Qualified Solicitor, or Chartered Legal Executive with a minimum of one year PQE (two years desirable) with exposure to working in-house or in a law firm practicing commercial property or general property law.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to produce reports and deliver presentations and training. Ability to interpret legislation, regulation, and policy documents.
  • Personal Qualities: A confident and positive approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with difficult situations in an effective, professional, and respectful manner.
