Genomics Innovation Director

**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Genomics Innovation Director to join our team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. As a key member of our East Genomic Medicine Service Alliance, you will play a critical role in driving forward research and innovation across the NHS GMS Alliance region.
Key Responsibilities
- **Strategic Leadership**: Align with the NHS Genomics Strategy and set the strategic direction of the NHS GMS Alliance, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver the NHS GMS Alliance business plan.
- **Research and Innovation**: Drive forward research and innovation across the NHS GMS Alliance region, collaborating with a range of stakeholders and partners to achieve our goals.
- **Collaboration and Partnership**: Collaborate closely with the East GLH on an aligned research and innovation strategy for the East Genomics region, working with the Genomics Innovation Directors across each NHS GMS Alliance.
- **National Alignment**: Work with NHS England and key stakeholders to align research and innovation activity and develop a national plan of action.
- **Genomic Networks**: Coordinate and drive the NHS Genomic Networks of Excellence, working closely with the leadership of the NHS Genomic Networks of Excellence and other key opinion leaders in the national and international genomic ecosystem.
- **Research Collaborative**: Support the development of the NHS GMS Research Collaborative, advising and reporting at a senior level on NHS GMS Alliance research and innovation activity.
- **Innovation Assessment**: Assess the viability and impact of innovations on the GMS's priorities, such as health inequalities.
- **Life Sciences Initiatives**: Coordinate the NHS GMS Alliance input into life sciences initiatives, including the Genomics England spending review initiatives.
- **Clinical Trials**: Drive the NHS GMS support for and recruitment to clinical trials, facilitating access and identifying relevant patient cohorts for clinical trial enrolment.
- **Workforce Development**: Ensure that all staff managed by the postholder undertake individual performance appraisal, operate within the appropriate Human Resource policies, and contribute to workforce development.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in genomics and innovation, with experience in leading research and innovation initiatives. You will also need to have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
