Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cleaning Operative - Domestic Assistant to join our team at Gi Group. As a key member of our public sector client's facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in our client's facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out a comprehensive range of general and departmental cleaning duties, including cleaning work areas, equipment, and removing waste.
- Replenish disposable items, such as hand towels and toilet rolls.
- Clean all work areas and equipment during and after use, and ensure that customer complaints are promptly dealt with.
- Use machinery safely and in accordance with current regulations and company policies.
- Report all maintenance issues and hazards to your line manager.
- Ensure that you correctly bag and tag all your rubbish and leave it for collection, in line with the hospital's waste policy.
- Comply with all Health and Safety legislation, including COSHH procedures, wearing PPE, and manual handling.
- Observe and maintain the right for patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ensure hygiene levels are maintained in accordance with current legislation and provide a safe environment for customers and staff.
- Comply with the current dress and personal hygiene regulations.
- Attend and comply with any training.
- Develop good lines of communication and relationships at all levels within your team and with other colleagues and customers.
- Take reasonable and practical measures to ensure the safety and security of patients within immediate working environments.
Requirements:
- The ability to communicate and work with patients, other members of staff, and visitors to the hospital.
- Understanding of a range of routine work procedures.
- Understanding of basic Infection Control.
- Awareness of Health and Safety Issues.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment.
- Cleaner/Domestic Assistant experience.
- Ability to organise own day-to-day work.
