AECOM is on the lookout for a Senior Consultant - Whole Life Carbon to become a vital part of our renowned Sustainable Development Group.

The ideal candidate will integrate into our extensive UK Sustainability team, playing a crucial role in providing Whole Life Carbon Assessment (WLCA) services to a diverse range of public and private sector clients, assisting them in achieving their decarbonisation objectives.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant, your duties will encompass:

  • Guiding clients in establishing appropriate decarbonisation goals and outlining actionable pathways to realize these targets.
  • Creating and implementing whole life carbon reduction strategies across various frameworks (e.g., Greater London Authority, LETI & RIBA, BREEAM, etc.).
  • Leading WLCA proposals and overseeing the execution of assessments.
  • Collaborating directly with clients and design teams to recommend essential low carbon strategies and facilitate the transition to decarbonisation.
  • Managing large-scale projects aimed at executing low carbon initiatives.
  • Preparing and spearheading tenders and proposals for prospective projects.
  • Providing training and support to team members in WLCA modeling.
  • Engaging with the broader AECOM sustainability network, connecting with colleagues, and exploring additional internal project opportunities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of the building design and construction process.
  • Proficiency in OneClick LCA, eTool, or EC3.
  • Experience in fee calculations and proposal writing.
  • A genuine passion for environmental sustainability.
  • Experience conducting LCA studies for BREEAM, Greater London Authority (GLA), LEED, or other LCA frameworks.
  • Knowledge of PAS2080:2023 Carbon Management Plans.

While the role is specialized, the successful candidate will have ample opportunities to expand their expertise and engage in a variety of sustainability projects with guidance and mentorship from technical specialists in the team.
