Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Environmental Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing our Environmental Management System (EMS) and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The role will also involve driving environmental and sustainability improvements across the organization and implementing necessary changes to meet our Net Zero goals and those of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety in all activities and maintain a safe working environment
  • Develop and implement environmental sustainability improvements across the organization
  • Manage and maintain our ISO 14001 management system
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Develop and implement environmental and sustainability targets
  • Work with colleagues to foster a culture of environmental responsibility
  • Liaise with external contractors, agencies, and local authorities
  • Plan and organize internal environmental audits
  • Provide training and education on environmental and sustainability practices to all departments and EHS representatives
  • Manage the day-to-day duties of the EHS representatives
  • Support Net Zero working groups to achieve our GHG reduction targets
  • Report annually on sustainability performance
  • Operate our global EHS portal

Requirements:

  • Environmental and/or Sustainability qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Environmental Certificate)
  • Experience in calculating Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emission data and initiating carbon reduction actions
  • Experience in a production/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work with internal teams and external contractors, companies, and agencies
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience presenting reports and results to the management team
