Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the execution of all freight operations for the designated project, ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of equipment and materials.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Incoterms and the most efficient methods for transporting goods.
  • Contribute to the company's commitment to environmental sustainability by considering the ecological impacts of freight.
  • Collaborate closely with the Customs team to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • Enhance and follow established logistics procedures, ensuring readiness to execute according to specific contract stipulations.
  • Maintain clear and honest communication to ensure optimal information flow among all involved parties, both internal and external.
  • Assist with export documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Engage in continuous dialogue with the Internal Customs Team regarding logistical operations to mitigate risks and costs.
  • Issue clearance requests to freight partners and maintain control records.
  • Participate in and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Compile monthly reports, including Management of Operations, Cost Control, and Freight Partner Compliance.
  • Review and approve all freight invoices, ensuring accuracy in coding and costs.
  • Familiarize yourself with and adhere to HSE policies and principles, promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Act as a role model for HSE matters within your operational areas.
  • Demonstrate leadership in HSEQ policies and practices.
  • Take personal responsibility for local site HSE rules and regularly review your HSE commitments.
  • Ensure consistent application of Just Culture standards in your area of influence.
  • Report all incidents and near misses in accordance with established procedures.
  • Stay informed about industry developments that may impact personnel safety and environmental protection, sharing relevant information with colleagues.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage all logistics activities within the UK region, ensuring best practices for cost efficiency, safety, and compliance.

Experience in customs compliance and record-keeping is essential.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in project logistics planning and management.
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding processes.
  • Familiarity with import/export licenses and country of origin regulations.
  • Understanding of Incoterms.
  • Experience in transport booking across various modes, including vessel and aircraft chartering.
  • Proficiency in import/export documentation.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of UK compliance systems and laws related to export/import.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office programs.
