Position:
Mechanical Engineering Technician / Mechanical Fitter

Compensation:
£42,000 to £45,000 annually + overtime compensated at x1.0 + additional benefits and pathways for career advancement.

We are actively seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join a manufacturing organization at one of their premier automated facilities.

This position offers a diverse and fulfilling experience where you will face challenges, receive support, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of machinery.

As part of your role, you will have the chance to acquire new skills, undergo further training, and advance your career within this organization.

The Mechanical Engineering Technician will operate on a continental shift schedule: 4 days from 6am to 6pm followed by 4 days off, then 4 days from 6am to 6pm followed by 4 days off, followed by 4 days from 7am to 7pm followed by 4 days off, and finally 4 nights from 6pm to 6am followed by 4 days off.

This results in only 4 night shifts in a month. Responsibilities include Planned Preventative Maintenance across various equipment and machinery.

  • Participating in scheduled shut-downs and project initiatives, refurbishing machinery, and replacing worn components.
Requirements include having completed a recognized Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or possessing equivalent Mechanical Engineering qualifications.

  • Experience in Industrial, Production, or Manufacturing settings is preferred.
  • Maintenance expertise; addressing machinery and equipment issues, breakdowns, and/or executing preventative maintenance on plant or industrial machinery.
  • Familiarity with Belts, Chains, Gear Boxes, Pumps, Bearings, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Welding, and Fabrication.
  • A willingness to engage in further training as part of your professional growth and development within the organization.
