Position Overview

We are seeking to fill Clinical Fellow positions within the Hywel Dda University Health Board. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a team in a progressive and innovative healthcare environment, where you can cultivate specialized interests and potentially rotate through various departments.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must hold full registration with the GMC and possess a valid licence to practise, or be in the process of obtaining this with a GMC reference number. A minimum of two years of internship experience is required, along with a demonstrated interest in Psychiatry. Equivalent experience and competencies will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Hywel Dda University Health Board is actively involved in a transformative Mental Health initiative and is a key participant in the International Mental Health Collaborating Network. The Health Board has established international partnerships to enhance mental health services.

The organization provides comprehensive Mental Health and Learning Disabilities services to the population across West Wales. Recent restructuring among Consultant Psychiatrists has led to the implementation of innovative working models. Our mental health services encompass a range of offerings, including Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT), inpatient facilities, Assertive Outreach Teams, Crisis Resolution Teams, and evolving Liaison Services. The Health Board is recognized for its pioneering psychological approaches, including specialized services for Personality Disorders, Early Onset Psychosis, and Eating Disorders. Additionally, we offer Substance Misuse and Community Forensic Services. Inpatient units are located within District General Hospitals, with specialized services available at designated facilities.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • GMC registration with a licence to practise or evidence of application for GMC registration
  • Completion of at least two years of Foundation training or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Experience within the NHS

Clinical Experience

Essential:

  • Comprehensive experience in General Psychiatry
  • Familiarity with UK hospital systems or equivalent
  • Engagement in Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
