Facilities Building Manager

The Role:

To ensure the smooth operation of various buildings on the Highgrove Estate, we are seeking a skilled Facilities Building Manager to assist with upkeep and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the organization and delivery of preventative maintenance and repair works.
  • Supervise contractors on-site and ensure works are carried out satisfactorily.
  • Manage the cleaning contractors day-to-day.
  • Manage routine maintenance tasks, ensuring completion within budget and deadlines.
  • Work with other departments to ensure compliance with statutory legislation and best practice.
  • Provide technical/practical support to building users.
  • Carry out regular inspections to identify any potential issues and take appropriate action to address them.
  • Provide basic administration support, including raising purchase orders, processing invoices, and maintaining records.
Person Specification:
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work under pressure, and problem-solve where required.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Friendly, flexible, helpful, enthusiastic, can-do attitude.
  • Understanding of facilities and maintenance functions.
Desired Skills:
  • Previous experience in a similar role as part of a facilities team.
  • Working knowledge of hard services (e.g. heating systems, HVAC, fire alarm systems).
Working Arrangements:

The post holder will report directly into the Executive Director Highgrove & Partnerships and will be required to work closely with the Head of Finance and Operations, Group Health and Safety Manager, Head Gardener, and Senior Education Manager.

Working hours will be full-time/37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate must have the legal right to work in the UK.
