As a Commodity Manager, you will play a crucial role in our mission to provide our customers with best-in-class cargo and vehicle screening systems and services.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure continuous improvement in quality, cost, service, and technology of our current and future offers.
- Identify new product development opportunities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver an efficient supply chain for future sourcing requirements.
- Maintain expertise in market trends, including comprehensive review of market drivers, cost structures, technical improvements, and competition landscape.
- Lead and motivate procurement team members in Strategic Procurement, driving efforts concerning supply base rationalization and supplier development.
- Ensure adherence to business standard contracting terms and conditions, while capturing and flowing down customer requirements to mitigate exposure and risk to the Cargo supply chain.
- Manage new supplier sourcing and selection, ensuring a value-based relationship and proposition, and responsible for the assignment of supplier and buyer setup when sourcing new or revised products.
- Support Make or Buy decisions, prepare data and plans for relevant commodity gate reviews, and responsible for the dept ECO effectiveness in providing and implementing supplier material disposition.
- Minimum 10 years' commodities purchasing experience, including IT, electrical/electronic control & automation, mechanical, and fabrication operations.
- Experience in negotiation and supplier relationship management, with a proven track record in achievement of cost reduction in purchased parts and services.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with intermediate and proficient user of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Agile PLM, knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost drivers, and supply market dynamics, and knowledge of ISO quality assurance methods.
