OSI Systems, Inc. is a leading provider of detection technology, offering cargo and vehicle inspection systems and services for ports, borders, military, high-threat facilities, and checkpoints. Our solutions help customers combat terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud.

Role Overview

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for managing procurement expenditure and product-related services, including developing strategic relationships with existing, former, and future suppliers. This role requires ensuring requirements are met on time and in accordance with quality standards, delivering a capable and cost-effective supply base.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to improve quality, cost, service, and technology of current and future offers.
  • Identify new product development opportunities and automate manual processes to improve productivity.
  • Support the product roadmap to deliver an efficient supply chain for future sourcing requirements.
  • Maintain expertise in market trends, including cost structures, technical improvements, and competition landscape.
  • Lead and motivate procurement team members in Strategic Procurement.
  • Drive efforts concerning supply base rationalization and supplier development.
  • Ensure cost, quality, and time-oriented supply of all required products and services.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage conflicts with suppliers.
  • Manage new supplier sourcing and selection, ensuring value-based relationships.
  • Support make-or-buy decisions and prepare data for commodity gate reviews.

Qualifications

  • Experience in procurement and Supply Chain Management processes, including quality management, financial analysis, and contract negotiations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or Supply Chain preferred, or 8-10 years of sourcing experience.
  • Commodities purchasing experience, including IT, electrical/electronic control & automation, mechanical, and fabrication.
  • Operations experience in procurement/materials/inventory management a plus.
  • MCIPS / APICS membership, equivalent, or qualified by experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Intermediate and proficient user of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Experienced user of MRP/ERP software, such as Microsoft Navision / D Dynamics.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost drivers, and supply market dynamics.
