Key Responsibilities:

General Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Food Safety and Quality Management System, ensuring all procedures are effectively implemented.
  • Guarantee compliance with industry standards, including SALSA and HACCP, as well as legal requirements and customer specifications.
  • Prepare for and facilitate third-party audits, ensuring all documentation and processes are in order.
  • Engage with customers, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders during audits and site visits.
  • Conduct internal audits as per the established schedule to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and hygiene throughout the organization.
  • Address technical inquiries and issues raised by both internal and external parties.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, operations, and procurement, to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and uphold product specifications with suppliers to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Investigate quality concerns, non-conformances, and customer complaints, implementing corrective and preventive measures as needed.
  • Monitor and ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes and advancements in technology relevant to food safety and quality.
  • Manage and mentor the Quality Assurance Technician to foster professional development.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical or quality management within the FMCG or food manufacturing sector.
  • Level 3 HACCP certification.
  • Level 3 Food Safety certification.
  • Qualification in Internal Auditing.
  • A degree in a food-related field such as food science, food technology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in English with exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, team building, planning, and decision-making.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • A passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Proficient in general computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Level 4 Food Safety certification.
  • Level 4 HACCP certification.
